Abstract :
When transmitted over practical communication channels, compressed video can suffer severe degradation. An effective way of combating the effects of errors on compressed video is intra-refresh. This paper presents a novel intra-refresh method based on measuring macroblock activity. Simulation results show that the proposed method gives better decoded video quality compared to conventional intra-refresh methods.
