Abstract :
In this paper we present a solution to a dissipative output feedback control problem for nonlinear systems via the information state approach. This problem includes positive real control and H∞ control problems as special cases. The resulting controller is, in general, infinite dimensional and feeds back the information state. We show that for special cases, namely bilinear and linear systems with quadratic supply rate, the solution is finite dimension. Moreover, for a number of linear system cases, the solution can be expressed in terms of two uncoupled Riccati differential equations plus a coupling condition
