Abstract :
Temperature field of cast roll and its thermal deformation were studied during strip casting with elasto-plastic and thermal-stress coupled FEM in this paper. The simulation result was verified with experiment result, indicating that the simulation result is accurate. Then, the initial profile were designed according to the simulation result, and optimized using finite element method (FEM) to make the roll profile well during stable casting, so as to make strip thickness even along width.
