Abstract
Networks of wireless sensors for monitoring physical environments have emerged as an important new application area for wireless technology. Major issues in these new types of systems are the continuity of environment monitoring, the mobility of sensors, and the ad-hoc communication nature. This paper develops an ad-hoc star-mesh topology and a communication and mobility scheme to provide an efficient monitoring system in an environment where targets have unpredicted motion. A simulation is provided for the validation of our scheme.
