Abstract :
Summary form only given. At present, applications of ultrashort pulse lasers in the femtosecond pulse length are leaving the laboratories. In the near future, they will be increasingly put to use in several industrial fields of laser material processing, micro-system technology, medical technology, and others. To investigate beam material interactions especially with safety equipment, and to provide knowledge for technical regulations and industrial standards, the Laser Zentrum Hannover has initiated a joint research project in cooperation with the Bundesanstalt fur Materialprufung. Furthermore, this project involves the qualifying of measurement and testing procedures as well as equipment for fs-laser radiation and possible secondary radiation.
