Abstract :
In this paper, we devise a frequency-interleaved (FI) discrete Fourier transform (DFT) spread orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM), or simply FI-DFTS-OFDM, transmission scheme with an iterative receiver. The system is indeed the conventional DFTS-OFDM scheme with a frequency-domain interleaver, from which a significant reduction in the bit-error-rate (BER) performance can be obtained if an iterative receiver is employed. In addition, an adaptive mechanism is considered, with which the most suitable transmission scheme can be selected based on the instantaneous radio conditions. Results confirm the promising performance of the proposed FI-DFTS-OFDM system.
