  • Abstract
A model-based fault diagnosis scheme using an Utkin observer is presented in this paper. Being the main task the generation of signals known as residuals. These are derived by comparison of real output and estimated output. The main device used as a residual generator is the Utkin observer which is based on sliding modes. Where, the estimate state error approaches zero regardlees the disturbance in the system. In this paper we analyze the fault diagnosis problem in position sensors of a quarter standar bus suspension.
