Abstract :
A CMOS active pixel sensor with direct frame difference output is reported in this paper. The proposed pixel circuit includes a photodiode and nine transistors and is optimized for low voltage operation. A 128×96 pixel prototype camera chip with an on-chip 8-bit pipeline ADC was fabricated in a 0.5 μm double poly double metal CMOS process. At 3.3 V, the power dissipation is 56 mW
