Abstract
In Mexico, the openly television (TV) is one of the most important communication media. Its importance as free communication medium has been kept until now, in spite of the existence of the subscription TV, due to economical conditions, or in many cases for satisfaction of the users with the scheduling. In this research, we developed a dual antenna array, for the openly TV frequencies, using FR-4 as substrate, in order to obtain a low cost prototype. As the operation frequencies ranges are not so high, the antenna sizes, obtained directly from the design equations are very large. Then, the scaling is a necessary step in order to reduce the antenna sizes for outdoor uses. The simulations are carried out to verify the performance of the proposed designs and to choose the most appropriate design. The experimental proofs show an acceptable reception in representative channels of both sub-range of frequencies.
