Abstract :
Summary form only given. Examines the variation in the optical output of different longitudinal modes of a self-pulsating, multiple-quantum well AlGaInP/GaInP laser diode that incorporates a number of epitaxially integrated absorbing quantum wells that act as a saturable absorber. Spectrally-resolved time-domain measurements using a monochromator and photon-counting detector are compared with a multi-mode rate-equation model. Time-resolved spontaneous emission measurements are also taken.
