Abstract :
An analog IC in 0.7 μm BiCMOS is presented that includes all functions to read 1× to 5× DVD and 1× to 32× CD disks. It supports multi-media operation including DVD-RAM, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD movie, CD, CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW. It supports also constant linear velocity (CLV) and constant angular velocity (CAV) operation of disk. The chip occupies 30 mm2 and dissipates 900 mW at 5 V
