Abstract :
In this paper, a nonlinear model for the interpolation of images using partial differential equation (PDE) is proposed. The proposed algorithm couples the Total Variational (TV) filter with a fourth-order PDE filter to approximate to a high order fractional derivatives variational model. The derived method efficiently reconstructs the real image structures, leading to a natural interpolation, with reduced blurring, staircase and ringing artifacts of classic methods. Experiment results show that the model has better effect in preserving textures and details than TV model.
