Abstract :
In order to be able to evaluate the performance of “smart” sectored antennas in indoor environments, where severe multipath occurs, a three dimensional raytracing model has been developed, which, with the aid of surface physics, simulates in a more realistic way the the electromagnetic behaviour and propagation of microwaves in indoor environments. Our interest at this point is the 60 GHz band, with its high information transport capacity and the possibility of frequency re-use between neighbouring rooms because of the severe attenuation it undergoes due to objects, walls and atmospheric ingredients
