Abstract
This paper proposes a new load sharing scheme which dynamically changes the call link in the overlapping coverage area of a three sector cell. This proposal also guarantees that the required threshold level of a carrier to interference ratio (CIR) is satisfied. This load sharing sector cell has the base station adaptively exploiting the overlapping areas between adjacent sectors, depending on the traffic density. It can decrease the trunking efficiency degradation due to sectorization. We compared fixed channel assignment (FCA) with a load sharing sector cell using the Erlang capacity
