Abstract :
The identification of nonlinear polynomial models from the data of the measurement of pressure fluctuations in a 10 cm ID plexiglass fluidized bed filled with polystyrene particles is discussed. The model structure and validation issues are addressed in the light of recent developments of identification algorithms. It is shown that rather simple models can reproduce the chaotic behaviour of the aforementioned system
