Abstract :
This paper deals with complex mixers able to make frequency synthesis to fulfill various communication standards. The system must provide multiple local oscillators. The main block of the FGU is the complex mixer. This circuit has been developed in a 0.35 mum SiGe technology (Jazz semiconductor). The complex mixer is based on the use of classical mixers. Six different topologies of classical and complex mixers are studied in order to select the ones that features the best tradeoff. Two architectures have been selected. The simulation results (schematic and post-layout) are presented to demonstrate the ability of such a structure to make RF frequency synthesis.
