Abstract :
Widespread applications of the power electronic-based loads continue to increase concerns over harmonic distortion. This paper therefore proposes a novel fuzzy logic variable hysteresis band current control technique of shunt active power filter, to compensate the harmonics and/or the reactive power generated by nonlinear loads. In this technique, the interference between phases due to the construction of the circuits is first eliminated, and the hysteresis band is adjusted to ensure nearly constant switching frequency, based on the fuzzy logic control of the reference currents and system parameters. This method allows the advantages of quick response, good current tracking accuracy of active power filter and minimal current ripple in three-phase systems. The study of the adaptive control technique presented is carried out by Matlab/Simulation. The validity and effectiveness of the current control are confirmed by the simulation results.
