Abstract
A study of the Ultra-wideband (UWB) microwave image reconstruction by robust capon beamforming (RCB) algorithm for detecting the early malignant tumor in the human breast is presented. In this study, the tumor detection in a two dimensional breast model of the breast organisms is numerically carried out via the finite difference time domain method (FDTD). The image reconstructed with backscattered waveforms by the RCB algorithm significantly lower the noise from the interface between the fatty breast tissue and the chest wall comparing with the image resulted from confocal algorithm.
