Abstract
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) often have many-to-one patterns and dynamic monitoring requirements, leading to energy imbalance. In this paper, we investigate the density in monitored area to determine the optimal deployment of nodes by taking into consideration of different requirements. By using our dynamic deployment scheme, energy balance can be achieved. Simulation results show that the dynamic placement performs better in prolonging the lifetime of WSNs.
