Abstract :
Summary form only given. Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in different mediums is a widely accepted method for the frequency conversion of the radiation generated in laser systems with different types of pump from the flash-lamps to laser diodes. A special place in this direction is occupied by solid-state mediums that allow the laser generation and nonlinear frequency conversion (so called self-frequency conversion) to be simultaneously achieved in one crystal. In this report the operations of all solid-state compact diode pumped Raman lasers with self-conversion on Nd:KGd(WO/sub 4/)/sub 2/ and Yb:KY(WO/sub 4/)/sub 2/ crystals are described.
