Abstract :
This paper presents the design of compact microstrip antenna. Using a novel idea of substrate perturbations, resonant frequency reduction of around 11% is successfully achieved. The design starts with the simple rectangular patch antenna resonating at 2.35 GHz, and successfully reduces the resonant frequency to 2.08 GHz, using substrate perturbations concept. The design is validated on the basis of simulation results using HFSSTM.
