Abstract :
A full procedure to model SMPS magnetic components is presented in this work. The models developed take into account geometry (2D/3D) and frequency effects, like skin, proximity or gap effects. The finite elements analysis (FEA) technique has been applied to generate the models. With this technique, it is not necessary to build the magnetic component to obtain its model. Capacitive effects are also computed using the FEA tool and then included in the magnetic component model. Some experimental results, comparing actual transformers and inductors behavior with the simulated ones are also presented in this work
