Abstract :
In this paper, we treat the problem of source localisation in the presence of angular spread in azimuth and sight. In such contexts, the performance of conventional localisation algorithms such as MUSIC [R. Schmidt, 1979] degrades since they are adapted to point sources. In this paper, we use covariance matching estimators (COMET) [O. Besson et al., July 2000], [T. Trump et al., April 1996] to estimate both the azimuth, the sight and their respective angular spread. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared to a theoretical study, MUSIC and the Cramer-Rao bound (CRB).
