  • Abstract
A new multiple access scheme, unsupervised FDMA, is presented. This is based around decentralised channel assignment and is designed for use on point to point links in the military land mobile environment. The scheme makes use of a coexistence etiquette which minimises intra-/extra-system interference so that few calls are dropped due to excessive interference. The channel blocking probability and call dropping statistics have been generated by simulation for different interference thresholds and link lengths. Performance of the UFDMA scheme is controlled at the user level by two parameters; the interference level at the transmitter and the minimum SNR required at the receiver. Performance results are presented by way of an example operating scenario
