Abstract :
Summary form only given. An actively mode-locked (ML) fiber laser is one of the promising candidates for a pulse source in high-speed optical communication systems. Recent studies have shown that laser cavities consisting of anomalous and normal-dispersion fibers can produce low-noise and low-dropout-rate pulses. We analyze the timing and energy jitter and examine the stability against linear-mode growth of an actively ML dispersion-managed (DM) fiber ring laser.
