Abstract :
Information handled by employees is an integral part in achieving enterprise´s success. However the current information management tools often hinder productivity. This results in major repercussions for businesses since their competitive advantage depends on the optimal exploitation of the enterprise data. This paper addresses the problem of data overload from an enterprise perspective. It explores related researches on information overload focusing on its effects on enterprise´s productivity. It suggests that priority of mitigating the overload is to be focused in two main aspects, enterprises´ processes and managerial aspects. The study also describes current proposed solutions which have been used by some firms in tackling the problem of information overload.
