Abstract :
We report a two-stage Er-doped fibre amplifier (EDFA) with wide flat gain, low noise figure, and wide dynamic range by accurately controlling each stage´s pump power and the attenuation of the voltage-controlled attenuator with 50 ms response time. We show that this EDFA is suitable to WDM network with a fast link control channel
