Abstract
This study presents a nonlinear analysis of numerical simulation of F-P laser structure having 2D photonic crystal as an active medium. In the theoretical model, the spatial field distribution is taken into account. FDTD method is used to study laser operation above the threshold. In this model the gain saturation effect is also included. The laser characteristic is obtained, showing an influence of laser parameters such as parasitic losses in the active medium and photonic crystal geometry on output intensity of the generated light and to power efficiency of the laser structure.
