Abstract :
The presents a new digital synchronization algorithm of simultaneously time and frequency for (military satellite) burst mode transmission. This method can be used for example for the synchronization of a demand assignment multiple access (DAMA) signal arriving at a control terminal. This method uses a preamble signal in the slot containing the demand assignment message. The preamble signal contains a carrier whose frequency is varying in time as a double frequency slope. This allows one to recover both the Doppler frequency and the time delay. The performance of this algorithm, in term of detection and false alarm probabilities are very good, for a low implementation complexity and low memory size
