Abstract :
This paper describes the development of an automatic control system for a recycled water distribution network. The network has a single supply point with significant customer loads either side of a network surge tank. These constraints pose a number of challenges in regard to the automatic control of plant, and the achievement of contractual obligations in regard to delivery pressure to customers. Conventional water system control strategies cannot adequately manage the constraints posed by this distribution network. An alternative control scheme, its development and deployment are described.
