Abstract :
The presence of the pollution on the surface of the polluted insulators drive to the reduction of the electric performances of these equipments and lead, in some conditions, to the apparition of the flashover arc, and thus the current breakdowns of electricity. To face these problems, several solutions have been considered and applied: periodic washing of the insulators, application of a grease on the surface the insulator which delays the formation of a conductive layer, "surdimensionnement" of the elements and elongation of the insulators chains.... In spite of this technical progress, and in order to fight this phenomenon by the most suitable means, this phenomenon remains definitely unresolved and without some definitive answers that can be brought on the critical sizes of flashover (leakage current and critical voltage). To adapt the insulators of a work more rationally to the severity of pollution of a site, or to supervise the quality of the isolation and therefore to avoid the possible failings, it is imperative to have controls parameters permitting to foresee the flashover of insulators. It is in this optics that our publication is oriented.
