A Method of Using GeoServer to Publish Economy Geographical Information

The Web services of Economy Geographical Information and its sharing play a very important role in management and utilization analysis of the social and economic statistical information. In order to explore a low-cost method with open source technology to publish Web geographical information, at the same time in order to improve the value of application of geographical information in economic government-supported decision, this paper researches a method of using GeoServer open-source platform to publish economy geographical information. It analyses the functional features of GeoServer platform, and builds the framework of the software environment applied in the Web publishing of economy geographical information. It also designs a data storage model according to the characteristics of economy geographical data. In particular, this paper elaborates the implementation process and method of using GeoServer open-source-software to publish Web economy geographical information. This research indicates that the application of GeoServer open- source-software in the management and service of economy geographical information can reduce project´s construction cost and improve the efficiency of value in use. It also verifies the feasibility of the application of open-source technology into the specific projects, and the further study of the network thematic mapping of GeoServer has important theoretical and practical value.
