Abstract :
Summary form only given. In our continuing research we therefore explore key parameters in the x-ray generation process. The present paper focuses on work in a new laser regime. We now use a 1 kHz repetition-rate laser delivering 35 fs pulses. Through analysis of single-photon imprints on a back-illuminated CCD camera, we have clear evidence of hard x-ray generation above 30 keV for this source, even for laser pulse energies as low as 1 mJ.
