Abstract :
To analyze structures with fine-scale dimension in one direction, a novel hybrid implicit-explicit finite-difference time-domain (HIE-FDTD) algorithm is proposed. Numerical formulations of the proposed HIE-FDTD method for a 2-D TE wave are analytically derived, and the stability condition is verified to be quite relaxed by comparing it against the existing HIE-FDTD method.
