Abstract :
In this paper an integrated optical isolator based on an apodized Kerr-like nonlinear Bragg grating is proposed and investigated carefully. The proposed structure has high enough isolation more easily than 40-dB using apodized nonlinear multilayer stack. Effects of types of apodization and number of layers on isolation are investigated. From presented simulations, we find out that types of apodization and number of layers have critical effect on isolation. Also, the transmitted field distribution for forward and inverse cases are calculated and demonstrated. The proposed method is suitable for integrated purpose and easy for implementation. The proposed structure is simple and easy for control of optical isolation. So, the proposed method is a suitable approach for realization of integrated isolators instead of the magneto-optical based isolators.
