Abstract
Summary form only given. It is known that in the case of molecular media, which show rich emission spectra, the optical resonator can select several lines, line by line, such as in the CO/sub 2/ laser medium. Usually the lines appear in some "quasi-chaotic" order but their order can be predicted. In our experiment it is pointed out that CO/sub 2/ laser lines can appear in the natural order of the CO/sub 2/ emission spectrum. It is found that the longitudinal tuning of the CO/sub 2/ laser could give a well-ordered laser signature-the WOLS effect. We also show that other sophisticated signatures are possible.
