Abstract
Using output deflection as a criterion, the detection performance of the SRMV (spatially resampled minimum variance) and ICMV (incoherent minimum variance) spatial spectral estimates are examined. The SRMV method is shown to provide improved detection performance in relatively short observation settings. At longer observation times, however, the SRMV offers little or no detection advantage over incoherent methods
