Abstract :
This paper presents the usage of ray tracing method to visualization the luminance map of a headlight. Some points of this map create image of the source of light on a reflector-bright stains of light figure. Shape of this figure depends on optical parameters. How influence headlight parameters over a shape of the image is shown. Such a situation is simulated using ray tracing. Putting a bump mapping texture allows to simulate surface distortion and this way it makes possible to simulate technological defects in the form of local distortions of the headlight´s reflector. Example of this technique is shown. The paper presents also some basic problems of the ray tracing method usage in the lighting technique.
