Abstract :
Summary form only given. Creation of new laser media based on beryllium aluminate crystals is a perspective direction in the field of physics of solid state laser media. Recently the considerable increase of interest to these crystals is conditioned with the possibility that realization of impurity ions of the first transition group give wide vibronic luminescence bands. These bands are perspective bands for produces anomalous broad gain bands in tunable and femtosecond lasers. Results are presented of studies on the synthesis of beryllium containing crystals of oxide system - p-BeO-m-Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/, investigations of their physical characteristics, as well as study spectral and laser properties of Ti- and Cr-doped crystals. The experimental spectroscopic properties of trivalent chromium and titanium ions in BeAl/sub 2/O/sub 4/, BeAl/sub 6/O/sub 10/, Be/sub 3/Al/sub 2/Si/sub 6/O/sub 18/ and BeLaAl/sub 11/O/sub 19/ crystals have been performed. On the basis of absorption, fluorescence, excitation spectra data and excitation states lifetimes decay thermal dependencies the energy level structures and lasing parameters of broadband vibronic transitions of doped ions were studied.
