Abstract :
Some problems appeared with the growing interest of the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) applications, especially for the identification of metallic objects. This paper describes a novel dual-band antenna which could be mounted on metallic objects for RFID tag. The antenna is fabricated using a single layer printed circuit and fed by inductively coupled feeding structure which is placed on the middle of two radiating patches. In the two radiating patches, double L-shaped slots are inserted to achieve miniaturization. The size of proposed antenna is 63.6×59.04mm2, a 52.9% area reduction compared to the original design. The simulation results show that the proposed antenna has good performance on metallic objects both at 915MHz and 2.45GHz.
