Abstract
The authors discuss various approaches to reconfiguration/restoration of partitioned multibandwidth services (DS3, DS1, DS0 substrate) in a digital cross-connect network. Reconfiguration or restoration could be required for a number of reasons, including equipment failure, growth and change of service. Multibandwidth refers to one or more circuits carried by more than one level of bandwidth (e.g. DS3, DS1, DS0, subrate), with all bandwidth layers managed concurrently. The primary focus is the operational relationship between the virtual network subscriber and the physical network owner
