Abstract
In the framework of the Olympus and Italsat propagation experiment for frequencies from 12 to 50 GHz, the ISPT-FUB group has organized an extensive measurements campaign based on two main stations, several auxiliary stations, radiometers at various frequencies, and meteorological instrumentation. The planned experiments are described in the light of the needs arising from the envisaged adoption of new services and techniques in satellite communications. The earth-station´s architecture is described, and the main goals in terms of propagation characterization are illustrated, as well as some applications to satellite communication systems. The topics under study and the approaches for the individual analysis are presented
