Abstract :
Japan faces an unprecedented situation, with fewer children and an aging society. Advanced medical technology or health care is not proving sufficient in dealing with a rapidly aging society. Society must provide life support services for elderly people to make their life more meaningful and dignified. People with dementia require person-to-person care in order to improve their pride, self-discipline and mental condition. This research proposes the feasibility of a remote-control nursing care system in collaboration with a tracking nursing robot and network environment to relieve both the care receiver and provider from mental and physical pressure in their nursing care lives in full respect of care receiver´s human rights.
