Abstract
The distinction between langue and parole has contributed a lot to the development of the linguistics, which has not only a theoretical sense in the language research and study but also a practical meaning in the practical foreign language education. In this paper, on the basis of the distinction between langue and parole, the author makes a tentative comparison between the two terms and Chomsky´s competence and performance and Halliday´s linguistic potential and actual linguistic behaviors and then puts this theory into practical use - foreign language education with his own teaching practice.
