Abstract :
The integration of standard networked software in modern control systems raises flexibility and saves costs, but it also increases the need for thorough security measures. Securing time-critical communication interfaces is a central aspect. This paper introduces a real-time Ethernet stack and analyses its specific security risks, focusing on hostile real-time applications. It then describes a protection concept and presents aspects of its implementation
