Abstract
Next Generation Network (NGN) is regarded as service driven network. The flexibility and agility of deploying new service is increasingly becoming the focus of communication industry today. It is important to learn the success experiences of existed service provision and service development technologies from telecommunication industry and introduce the new service integration technologies of SOA from IT industry. Firstly, the paper summarized the characteristic of SOA and researched the element and cooperation of SOA. Secondly, it explored how to build a SOA based services integration architecture for convergent network. Finally, the service integration solution for the NGN is proposed. It based on two strategic tenets. First, it makes use of the IMS plane and the Web services realization mechanism as backbone for integrating service. Secondly, it uses Web services to automate the entire lifecycle of service, which in turn allows third party application providers to deploy services by using the services exposed by network provider.
