Abstract :
We present a realization of a multi-agent system (MAS) with application to commissioning goods. It includes mobile and stationary robots as well as human workforce. AM sequences of action are self-organizing. The system is fail-safe against perturbations as well as malfunctioning of individual components. This is due to the agent approach as well as the proper selection and implementation of software technologies. By using the commissioning example we demonstrate how a MAS may also be used in other industrial scenarios, like assembly, manufacturing, and production lines. Since our agent system approach may be applicable for both, fully automated sites as well as systems with humans and machines cooperating, it generates a wide range of possible applications in practice
