Abstract
The analysis of wave data from two InterOcean S4DW (directional wave) current meters with bottom pressure recorders has been carried out for data collected near Holderness on the east coast of the UK in the winters of 1994/95 and 1995/96. At one station there were simultaneous deployments of a Datawell Waverider buoy and a bottom pressure recorder for comparison. At the second station was another bottom pressure recorder. Various additions to the standard analysis presented by Trageser and Elwany (1990) have proved to substantially improve the results. The addition of a high frequency tail to the frequency spectrum from the bottom pressure record improves the derived period parameter, T z. The use of the mean current derived from the S4 electromagnetic current meter allows the correction for Doppler shift of the waves which is quite significant in this region due to tidal currents of up to 1m/s
