Abstract
Bell Canada´s commitment to differentiated customer service demands a network and computing infrastructure capable of responding quickly and transparently to new service needs. The OSS-TA (operations and services system-technical architecture) is Bell Canada´s technology architecture. It specifies an infrastructure capable of meeting future operations and services needs. The OSS-TA is supported by Bell Canada´s standard operating environment (SOE). The SOE is a policy instrument designed to enforce OSS-TA objectives for services and support systems. It is used in the technology selection phase of operations services systems (OSS) development. In the majority of applications, the SOE improves the process of systems development and integration by preselecting a limited range of stable hardware and software platforms. A description of the OSS-TA, SOE, and Bell Canada´s services evolution is given
