Abstract
An investigation of the effects of processing parameters in CO2-laser micro drilling has been performed. It was found that small holes with diameters in the range 0.1~1.0 mm can be processed by used the optimum selection of the laser beam parameters. This investigation utilizes commercial available lasers and drilling in 1 mm steel will be described. The paper describes the results of a parametric investigation including the optimum parameters selection and their influence on the obtained hole qualities.
